PA Dutch Filling




1 loaf white bread
2 eggs
3 celery ribs, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 stick butter


Tear or slice bread into squares and place in large bowl.
Melt stick of butter in pan.  Sauté celery and onion until onion is translucent- about 10 minutes.
Pour mixture over top of bread.  Add 2 eggs.  
Mix well. *TIP:  My grandma suggest using your hand to mix it!  
 Add 1/2 to 1 cup of chicken broth.  Mixture should be very moist.
Spread evenly into a 9x9 pan.
Bake 350° for 30 minutes.
